Hello, I am currently having a problem using a sandvik thread mill on a mazaak fh5800. It is a 1/4×28 thread. The tool cuts the first pass fine. The next pass goes off to one side of the hole, and cuts off center to the hole. This program previously worked on a mori mill. Is there any differences that you know of from machine to machine? Could you give me your site for programing your thread mills? I only have one for Kennametal. Thanks

Thank you for the inquiry. A milling specialist from Sandvik Coromant will follow up with you privately. We need a bit more information about how you’re programming your tool path in order to support your specific application.

Is there a downloadable version of the thread machining calculator for offline use?

You can run this calculator from the site or you can down load it onto your computer. All three files that you will get have to be in the same folder for the calculator to work.
The thread diameter can be put in on the lower left hand section of the thread turning calculator. There is a field for final thread diameter this would be the final major diameter on a external thread. I have put the path to a page on our website that will give you the option to down load.
