Chronicling Manufacturing Innovation
The show, sponsored by the global leader in the metal cutting industry, Sandvik Coromant, and other industry partners, is a unique view of real people making real innovations in manufacturing to provide the best solution to a customer’s manufacturing challenges.
The latest episode, “Gnarly Metal,” features Straitline Components, the British Columbia-based manufacturer of mountain bike gear and components. The Straitline Components’ team and its partner, Sandvik Coromant, met with creativity, innovation and state of the art engineering to solve a real-world challenge for one of its most extreme customers.
“We have invested heavily in the latest CNC and robotic technology, in an effort to produce extreme bicycle components that people can trust their lives with,” said Dennis Paulson, Owner of Straitline Components. “Sandvik Coromant is a key part of that technology, as their products allow us to cut our parts more reliably, to tighter tolerances and at a lower overall cost than the competition. They also produce a wider array of solutions than anyone else, which deal with the broad variety of materials that we machine on a daily basis.”
Sandvik Coromant Partnership
“Sandvik Coromant is proud to play a role in a series that brings to light the real people using real technology to develop incredible engineering achievements,” said Brian Norris, Vice President of Marketing at Sandvik Coromant. “Manufacturing has always been hidden from the general public, but the Edge Factor Show takes a creative approach to the manufacturing challenges in the industry and provides an inside look at how every-day components are made.”
